On Saturday, the Fais Do-Do features live entertainment, craft vendors, local artisans, seafood and the coronation of the King and Queen.
On Sunday, the ceremonial wreath is dropped @ 1pm. Boats form in the west end of the Biloxi Channel near the Beau Rivage Casino and then parade east to receive blessings for a safe and bountiful season.

The Friendship Oak
The Friendship Oak is located on the beachfront campus of the University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast Campus (formerly Gulf Park College for Women) in Long Beach. The Friendship Oak dates back to 1487. Current measurements show a 50-foot height; diameter of the trunk is 5 feet 9 inches; circumference of the trunk is 18 feet 7 inches; spread of foliage is 156 feet. The average length of the main lateral limbs is 60-66 feet from the trunk; average circumference of limbs at the trunk is 7 1/2 feet; the tree forms almost 16,000 feet of shelter; and lateral roots go out 150 feet.

Ranger-led walks and talks are offered at the Gulf islands National Seashore Visitor Center in Ocean Springs and West Ship Island Fort Massachusetts. Passenger ferry service to West Ship Island is from the Gulfport Small Craft Harbor, located on Hwy 90 at Hwy 49. Visitors should bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and drinking water for their trip to West Ship Island. For ferry service information, call 228-864-1014.
